You're not making any sense; you're all over the map here. Try to concentrate on one thing at a time.
I did not raise the topic of taxes, you did. The words of Messrs. Cantor, Cornyn, Hatch, Coates and Ms. Bachmann speak for themselves. They and other Republicans have all stated clearly and unequivocally that they mean to tax the poor. The CBO, whose conclusions I will accept over those of any Republican politician or GOP-enabling media personality, has determined that the Republican candidate's tax plan would do precisely that.
The evidence is clear and it is plentiful. Republicans mean to tax the poor. For the purposes of this conversation, that is the only relevant fact.
Moreover, I will discuss and defend what -I- have said, not what you suppose some random imaginary or hypothetical person named "liberals" said, let alone "supported."
Michigan Joe -
Yes there is a plan to privatize and that would mean a disaster for all seniors. The GOP hates anything for the working Americans.

Then you just aren't paying attention to your leadership, like Bachmann, Gohmert, King,.etc, etc, etc. [editor's note: Who, in the wide world of sports, is Gohmert? and King?]
freedom and justice-
We already live freely -- and that's due in large part to government projects and programs!
[ed note: read this: Thank Goodness I live in a Free Country]

LOL. No he is not. What would be MORE free than it is now?? He is about getting his buddies rich by privatizing all the he wants to cut in government. That is all.
[ed note: U.S. Code [of laws] is 300,000 pages long]

No, not all are mean and some mistakenly think birth control is an improper enlargement of the Federal Government. You wouldn’t find a line in our Constitution about “giving anything away”, as that isn’t an enumerated power. It does however, fit into the Necessary and Proper Clause provision in Article One, section 8, clause 18:
The Congress shall have Power - To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof. This clause has been paired with the Commerce Clause to provide the constitutional basis for a wide variety of federal laws. To keep us moving FORWARD, we must continuously grow the role, responsibilities and resources of the Federal Government until we have a totally fair and just society.
[ed note: commerce clause means democrats can do whatever the h*ll they want]

Much of Europe runs on a system that resembles a "medicare for all" system. It's a Single payer insurance program with private doctors and facilities. France, Denmark, Norway, Germany(and more) all have significantly better medical outcomes then we do in the US and they don't have a large percentage of uninsured people making it all more expensive.
Medicare recipients of today spent their entire working life paying into the system, yes they paid for it.
[ed note: Europe is doing swell, is it not? ]
That's not what you said. You said that his "plan" would "remove government interference so that us individuals can live freely." Thank you for acknowledging that that is false.
His "plan" does not even attempt or pretend to balance the budget for another 30 years. If we do -nothing- it can be balanced in less than ten. The former is therefore not a "step in the right direction for balancing the budget."
[ed note: not only do I define words for them, I apparently must quote myself repeatedly, even if they can look two comments up and read what I wrote they still don't know what I said.]

Right, all the people out there who are sick and can't afford healthcare, want the "freedom to have no insurance." Only if they are insane.
Iamrebelriser August 7, 2012 at 4:58pm
The Constitution says we ALL have equal rights. Since Insurance companies have been providing free Viagra for men so they can get women pregnant, how dare you think birth control being also provided is not also important? Stop repeating FOX lies here. We kinow the difference.

Walmart should pay its employees a living wage instead of holding courses showing them how to apply for food stamps.
It makes billions in profit, it doesn't need taxpayer subsidy to be profitable.

I like the words "unsubstantiated drivel" I 've known a few people quite happy with their SS/Medicare checks. Your 3rd paragraph reads like this to me: &^%)>:@#^&
Here's my summary
1. government never interferes with healthcare [ed note: what a twit.]
2. prices go up as Insurance companies continue to raise the rates until only the richest can afford any treatment.
3. Government interferes less, the military, wars without end, constant tax cuts for the really important americans etc. adds to the deficit and blah, blah, blah. No need to define anymore dogmatic paranoia, I got it lol.
4. If everywhere else (meaning almost ALL of the rest of the 1st world nations) things have gotten so bad, they'd all be here, trying to get here, clamoring for our superior system---It's not happening.
[ed note: illegal immigration not happening, according to this guy. Ha, ha, ha.]
Iamrebelriser August 7, 2012 at 4:48pm
We've heard quite enough of "you can't cut benefit or tax cut, since it wouldn't help the deficit." It ALL helps, bozos. Between more tax paying by the 1%, cutting pay of all politicians, cuting oil company subsidies, and probably lots of pork that I can't recall now or that we don't know about, it would make a difference.
[new explicit name calling: "bozos"]

I'll bet you've a whole lot more fear mongering and propaganda where that BS came from?
Iamrebelriser August 7, 2012 at 4:50pm
How about cutting your pay, elTim, and saying, ":It wouldn't make any difference to you. The Republican, Tea party lies are long ago worn out, and we're fed up with you coming here and repeating them.
Duerksen August 7, 2012 at 9:38pm
Who the hell do think the "Government" is? It is US (We the People), and the taxes you whine about are the costs we decide TOGETHER are essential in order to have a decent civilization. When YOUR lordships (i.e the Crooked Billionaire Club) are given unwarranted degrees of control in our moments of stupidity, then the system becomes a fire-hose of corporate welfare.
"Liberty" is having an equal say in these decisions - because it only make sense to build roads and fight disease and inspect meat and police our streets and promote healthy elk herds and study climate and .....hundreds of other that that you can call, like Jefferson and Madison did, the "General Welfare".
You guys fight and foam at the mouth to make sure we have as little of this freedom as possible - to ensure that Crooked Billionaires can outbuy and sell us in the feudal political market created by the Citizens United decision. Your side are eager, eager peasants to economic usurpers.
The answer is not to make government smaller - its to widen the base, so no one interest can out-vote you and I.

It is so much easier to support a failed theory or untenable proposal that way.
Facts are like the Constitution, republicans are all in support of them, except when they're not, except when they peskily get in the way of a grander scheme.
just anotherone August 8, 2012 at 2:21am
No I didn't. Those are your words.
[ed note: I doubt it.]

Because I can read.
[ed note: well then, I retract everything that I've ever said.]

"how can we expect government to know whats best"
The gubmit most assuredly doesn't get it right all the time. And as a commited libural, they screw up plenty. They do have the resources however to bring in the experts to analize and hopefully fix problems that aren't avilable to a group of good ol boys standing outside the general store parroting the latest distortions to come out of the RW noise machine.
Can't you just feel the love and affection coming from these people? I really would hate to live in their world.
What was your comment that they are responding to?
ReplyDeleteI had quite a few comments. Was there one in particular that you'd like?
DeleteIn the future would you like to see the whole set (mine and theirs)?
The whole set would help definitely. That way it shows what you said that they were responding to. :)
DeleteI shall try it that way next Tuesday and post it on Wednesday. Once a week is enough for me.
